Nexus RTM controller board — simulated top view Top view of an industrial controller board. Along the top edge, six three-pole screw terminal blocks carry the relay contacts; six relays sit below them over a milled creepage slot that separates contact pads from coil pads, and a ULN2803 driver with integrated flyback diodes drives the coils from a common 24 volt rail. The centre carries a compute module on two 100-pin connectors, with microSD, real-time clock and TPM alongside. The left edge carries analog input and output terminal blocks feeding signal conditioning, a 16-bit ADC and a DAC. The bottom left carries opto-isolated digital inputs and MOSFET digital outputs with their own terminal blocks. The bottom right carries the power chain: DC input terminal, fuse, TVS diode, reverse-polarity MOSFET, a 5 volt DC-DC converter with inductor and bulk capacitors, and a 3.3 volt regulator. The right edge carries an Ethernet magjack, USB, and RS-485 and CAN transceivers with three-pole terminals and a 120 ohm termination jumper. 250 VAC 10 A MAX CREEPAGE SLOT K1 K2 K3 K4 K5 K6 +24 V COIL RAIL U4 ULN2803A int. flyback RELAY OUTPUTS STATUS · SERIES R COMPUTE MODULE CM4 / CM5 · 2 × 100-PIN ST / ESP32 VARIANTS · SAME CARRIER microSD RTC TPM ANALOG I/O U6 AI COND U7 ADC 16b U8 DAC AO 0–10 V · 4–20 mA IN · 0–10 V OUT DIGITAL I/O U9 OPTO U10 OPTO U11 DO DRV U12 DO DRV DI OPTO-ISOLATED · DO MOSFET 0.5 A POWER INPUT U2 3V3 U1 5V DC-DC L1 C1 C2 Q1 D1 F1 F1 · TVS · REV-POL · 5 V · 3V3 COMMS ETH MAGJACK 1G USB U13 485 120R U14 CAN RS-485 / 232 · CAN · A B GND

Processor platforms

Three compute classes.
One controller family.

Every Nexus RTM controller is built on one of three processor platforms. Pick the compute class the application needs — the sensing, communication and relay hardware around it stays the same.

  • 01

    Raspberry Pi 4 / 5 / CM4

    Linux-class compute

A full Linux userspace on the controller: containers, local storage, display output and gigabit networking. For controllers that process and keep data on site rather than only forwarding it.

    • Edge processing
    • Local HMI
    • Data logging
    • Containers
  • 02

    ST MCUs

    Deterministic real-time

Bare-metal or RTOS firmware with predictable timing and low power draw. For control loops that must react on schedule, every cycle, without an operating system in the path.

    • Hard real-time control
    • Low power
    • Industrial I/O
  • 03

    ESP32 SoC

    Wireless by default

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are integrated in the SoC itself. The compact, cost-effective end of the range — connected sensing and I/O nodes that report to a gateway or straight to a server.

    • Connected sensing
    • Wireless I/O
    • IoT endpoints

On the board

Where they run

Built for systems that
have to keep running.

The same controller family covers monitoring, automation and control work across industrial and facility environments.

  • Machine monitoring

Read temperature, pressure and power draw from equipment on the floor and report it upstream.

    Analog in · RS-485 · Ethernet

  • Building & facility automation

Switch HVAC, lighting and access hardware directly through the on-board relays.

    Relays · Ethernet · Wi-Fi

  • Energy & power monitoring

Measure consumption per circuit, log it on the controller, and push it to a server.

    Power measurement · Ethernet

  • Environmental & cold chain

Track temperature and humidity where the goods actually sit, and act when they drift.

    Temperature · Humidity · Relays

  • Remote sites

Cellular backhaul for locations no wired network reaches, with control staying on the board.

Cellular option · Analog in · Relays

  • Lab & test benches

Drive fixtures, sample analog channels and sequence a test run from one board.

ADC inputs · Relays · USB / serial

Why off-the-shelf

The hardware phase
is already finished.

Nexus RTM controllers are products, not projects. The design, the prototypes and the bring-up happened before you got here.

  1. 01

    No development cycle

Skip schematic, layout, prototype runs and board bring-up entirely. Your work starts at integration.

  2. 02

    Repeatable supply

The same part number is the same board on every order. What you qualify once stays qualified.

  3. 03

    One board, many interfaces

Sensing, wired and wireless communication and relay control on a single assembly. Fewer parts in the cabinet, less wiring, fewer things to fail.

  4. 04

    Options, not redesigns

Cellular, hardware security, 48 V input and audio are ordering options on existing boards — a different configuration, not a new project.

About

Nexus RTM

Nexus RTM designs and produces Real-Time Modules — industrial controllers that ship as finished products rather than development projects.

Each board pairs one of three processor platforms with sensing, wired and wireless communication, and relay control. Capabilities such as cellular, hardware security and higher input voltages are ordering options on the same boards, so the hardware you evaluate is the hardware you receive.
